This is my log cabin cardboard miniature version of my future log cabin that will be built in Alaska. I’m wanting to build a vertical log cabin (stockade style cabin).

The log home will be 12 feet by 12 feet by 16 feet to the top of the roof. The living room is only 5 feet high and the bedroom will be about 3 feet high. So basically, the log cabin will have 3 levels.

If you have any suggestions about my tiny log cabin idea, please leave a comment. Our tiny home in Alaska will be awesome.

If you’ve build a log cabin before, I’d love to pick your brain Thanks again!

This will make for the quintessential log cabin in the mountains. You can help birds survive the coldest days of winter, by providing a winter roost box. You’ll need wood…I like rough-sawn cedar…dowel rod, glue, nails, and wood screws. Following the instructions, carefully measure and cut out the six pieces. Drill a 12-inch diameter hole in the front piece of the house, near the bottom. Use the rough side of the wood for the inside of the box or drill four holes into, but not through, the wood…and insert perches. Since heat rises, the entrance hole at the bottom means the box will stay warm. And when spring finally comes, rotate the front to convert it into a bluebird house!
