Fire Damper Inspections
Fire dampers are devices that allow the closure of any ductwork that passes through a fire rated wall, floor or partition. When the temperature on one side of the wall or floor reaches a certain level, a fusible link is usually melted causing the fire damper to close the ductwork that passes through. Fire damper inspections must be performed on these devices one year after installation and, at least, every four years thereafter. These fire damper inspections are critical to the safety of those who work or reside in a facility requiring fire dampers. In many cases, fire and smoke can be quarantined to the smallest area possible allowing more time for occupants to escape and emergency services to arrive. Protect your employees and love ones by contacting a reputable organization for all of your fire damper inspections.
