First you need to know that legally speaking if you build a cabin on your friends land the cabin is legally theirs, not yours. You can not legally move it. He might let you, but he is under no obligation to do so, and legally he can keep it.

Depending on materials a bathroom will cost you 20-30k, including permits and inspections.

You can't buy a trailer from the 80's unless you pay cash. You will still need a septic tank, which needs about an acre these days and will run about 30k (you need this with the cabin as well).

Since you seem unclear who you need to hire, you will need permits, which require work from licensed people, for any foundation, the septic tank, plumbing, gas, the foundation under the propane tank, heating, A/C, electrical, windows (you have to have double paned and tempered glass within 5 feet of any steps), and the frame. I am probably forgetting something, that that is at least most of it.
References :
A cabin would be a better choice. Although, I am not sure where you can find a used cabin from the 80's. Moving it could be cost prohibit if you have to move too far. I have seen large house being moved across town, so a small cabin won't be a problem. Not sure how much it would cost, but I would imagine in the thousands. There are a few places that sell log cabin kits. May be you can get an efficiency. Since this is a new building with the attention of moving it, may be you can reinforce the platform so will be easy to move later. Google for cabin log home.
References :
I would make the investment into the log cabin rather than the mobile home. You are more likely to get a return on your investment from the small log cabin and you could easily add on to it in the future if you wish and it will still look nice. You willl have to check on the different log packages on what they include. Some will just be the exterior walls and then you will have to still be responsible to do a roof and all the electrical and plumbing. If your budget allows I would still go for the log cabin.
I have vacation property and at the time had a limited budget. My choice was a mobile home or a smaller more slightly more expensive build cottage. I went with the mobile and am regretting it now as the cottage would have appreciated while the mobile has depreciated. As well it would have been easier to add on to the cottage and still look nice. Also if you want to refinance using the equity in your property then you will get more and have an easier time if it is a foundation built dwelling.
References :
It sounds like you have your mind made up...why would you buy a decaying trailer when there are nice ones out there. Are you that damn cheap? Not everyone is "trailer trash". Why are you asking us? Your significant other or whom ever will be residing there should make the decision.
References :
Small log cabin or trailer from the 80's?
We are getting ready to move 2 hours north from where we are now... A family friend is letting us use some acreage to stay on to save money to buy some land. We were going to buy a used mobile to pull on to the property, but I've been looking into small log cabin kits. I was wondering, how expensive is it to put a full (compact of course) bathroom in a little cabin? and also, could we have the cabin moved when we buy our property?

I think it would be more economically sound if we had the cabin... Smaller bills and such.
And, would we have to hire an electrician to get the electrical stuff out of the way?
I guess in other words, should we get the tiny log cabin or the decaying trailer?
It's just the two of us.
I'm not cheap, I'm a 22 year old college student. I have better things to spend my money on. We are trying to buy a piece of land, which ISN'T cheap. I need something small and efficient.

I can no longer live where we are because of the economy, and we are looking to go a little greener as well. So, thanks for your insults.

And I appreciate the person who gave me a resonable answer.
(Also, we are only planning to live in this dwelling for maybe 3 or 4 years. We eventually want to build on the land the purchase.)

Seriously, the friggin' rudeness is unbelievable.
