Does anyone know where to find some unique house plans? We want to build something energy efficent, but also?

something with character. I am in love with log homes, but they are not too energy efficent. I am looking to build modular, but I can’t find any good sites with enough pictures and designs of what I want. Plus does anyone know where I can find the green roofs which are metal? Thanks.

Sounds to me like you need to learn how to do internet searches. All of the the things you are looking for are readily available on the internet. Type the following search terms in the Yahoo search box (include the quotation marks) and explore the results:

I am sure you can think of several other searches that will interest you.

Log Cabin Plan – Cardboard Planning

This is my log cabin cardboard miniature version of my future log cabin that will be built in Alaska. I’m wanting to build a vertical log cabin (stockade style cabin).

The log home will be 12 feet by 12 feet by 16 feet to the top of the roof. The living room is only 5 feet high and the bedroom will be about 3 feet high. So basically, the log cabin will have 3 levels.

If you have any suggestions about my tiny log cabin idea, please leave a comment. Our tiny home in Alaska will be awesome.

If you’ve build a log cabin before, I’d love to pick your brain Thanks again!

I said it before and I will say it again.

Facebook is one self-contained, self-inflicted, big juicy database that respective governments are just itching to get their teeth into. Particularly Jacqui "Stop ‘em and drop ‘em" Smith.

Do you worry about the intentions of the Home Office with this request?

I find all of this very disturbing. This sort of monitoring is extending it’s ugly tentacles into all kinds of public databases. For instance, there’s a new one just out where details of every child under eighteen, their parents/carers and every professional involved in working with those children (therapists, social workers, teachers, etc) will be recorded and be accessible for anyone working professionally with children and young people (myself included).

Is it just Labour who are so intent on this Big Brother-style tactic, or will the Tories continue with it if they get elected?

How do I design a house….?

I’d like to eventually have an enormous family. I’ve been looking over house plans for something that would work for a family with 5-10 children, and I’m not finding anything that seems efficient as well as within my eventual price range (300-400k). I plan on a log home, and a large kitchen, several bathrooms ..etc.. but how to make it all fit together without looking like a dorm or cramming everyone in together? I have several creation programs, but I can’t see human-sized beings within the designs to get a feel for spacial dynamics. Any suggestions?

Wish it were as easy as it is in Sims2
1) I am not building it now. I am planning for it now. Which is intelligent and common sense.

2) I’ve tried home designing products/planners/programs. I end up with huge space-wasting designs that don’t give me an idea of cost/method.

How efficient is it to build a house for ten twelve years before you need it? Have you heard the term "starter home"? One thing at a time there.

If you have a pack of kids your house will be a dorm; no getting around that.

PS Find an architect. They design homes for a living. One hour could teach you a lot.

Vacation home in Lake Arrowhead – a good idea?

We are planning to buy a vacation home/log cabin in Lake Arrowhead and want to spend under $150,000 but cannot figure out if it is a good idea and what areas of lake arrowhead are better for investment. Please help.

i would say yes….check out this site www.vrbo.com and see if there are vacation rentals in that area on this site..maybe you could rent yours out when you are not using it and have it paid for in 2-3 years…that would be a great investment.
