3D Home Plans

I’m developing a website where people can design their home and garden online using 3D software. Then, they can share their plans with others to get feedback and provide inspiration for others. Currently, the site is called MyGardenPlans.com, but I want to change it to focus more on the home. Recently, I bought the domain name eGardenHome.com, but it seems a little cheesy. Can you help me find a better name? I don’t have a huge budget and can’t spend thousands on a premium name. I’m just looking for something short, descriptive and catchy.

DIYHomeplans.com ???

I don’t plan to make something like extremely awesome, but if i could do it in 3d i’d be way more than pleased.
I know i must make the graphics and all, and if anyone has already done one of these, or knows how to, please, please, please, give me fullstep intructions, i cant just magically learn it with perople saying it’ll be hard, but possible, or its just type, its also design characters.

Depends on how experienced you are. If you have just started (by this I mean less than a couple months or even a year), then you will not be very successful. You need a lot of experience programming small, medium before you can tackle something like that.

If you haven’t programmed any games, you’re going to need to play around with a 3rd party library (I use allegro, which may be a good start for you, but I’m sure others will say differently) and make some simple, very simple programs with bitmaps, getting keyboard and mouse input, etc.

It’s a bigger task than you might think. I’m not discouraging you just letting you know it is quite difficult.

when i view my floor plan in 3D it always takes a really long time to load and so do any actions i perform in 3D view, then it stops responding completely. this is the same with all views except the floor plan view. do you know how to stop this from happening

The program takes up a lot of memory space so you probably have to close any other programs that are operating when you’re working on the designier page. That’s based on the limited information you provided. In addition, your computer may be an old version which will also contribute to multiple programs running slow. I hope that helps.
